Project #757 - Dominican Republic
Bold Hope

Electric pump well, generator, cistern pump & cistern

Project Cost: $ 5,262.
BOLD HOPE empowers communities by joining with local partners to provide
support for work in education, medical care, vocational training, and more. In the Dominican Republic, many Haitian immigrants and their families live in communities called “bateyes” while working in sugar cane plantations. Conditions in these plantations and the bateyes are so deplorable that transitional communities are being built for people who leave plantation work in hopes of finding better job opportunities.
Bold Hope is serving in one of these communities by building a community center that will house a church and school. They’ve asked MPF to help by funding a well site near the center to serve the hundreds of residents who have no access to a free, clean water source.
